I can't believe I'm admitting it, but lately I have been on a reality TV kick. I mean I don't know what it is about watching crap television, but I find it thoroughly enjoyable. In my defense, it is how I distract myself through a workout. So in a sense, the damage I'm doing to my brain is counterbalanced by the benefits I'm doing to my bod. Right? I know you feel me...
So I was watching Wags, yes Wives and Girlfriends of Sports Stars... I find it hilarious that these "Wags" call themselves "Wags," but I don't have time for tangents right now. These women are curvy, gorgeous, and ridiculously flawless. A few of them are brazen enough to admit that they get work done or contour themselves from head to toe to give the illusion of flawlessness. And they own it (I'm taking to you Natalie and Olivia). I respect that and find it incredibly refreshing. It got me thinking.
We live in an age where social media predominates. It is very easy to obscure the line between reality and fiction. We have self esteem issues and unrealistic expectation of how we should be, how we should look and I would argue we have unrealistic expectations of what we expect in others, especially our partners. Yes I one time had an ex boyfriend tell me that I should get a nose job. Thus we are exes. This is the plastic surgery era. More people are getting plastic surgery now then ever, yet as a nation and world we are still in an economic depression. I find it interesting.
I'm not knocking plastic surgery by any means. I truly believe that if something is going to make you happy, not hurt you or others, and is within your means, than by all means, do the damn thing. I just think more celebrities (including social media "celebrities") should be more transparent and admit they get work done. I mean hell, they share everything else for the public, but nooo, don't ask them about their plastic surgery because that's "offensive". End rant.

Influenster and YSL
So I heard about Influenster not too long ago and immediately signed up for it. Influenster is a really cool website where people not only write reviews about all sorts of products to get Social Impact points, but Influenster also selects individuals for different campaigns to try out different products and review them for free.
The first campaign I was selected for was the Bella VoxBox and you can read all about it here.
You did read that I said everything you get in a VoxBox is free?
I just got an amazing VoxBox featuring YSL...Ahhhhhhhh!
I think the main catch of Influenster is if you don't complete the reviews that Influenster asks of you then Influenster is less likely to send you future free boxes because they are using you for advertising. They want you to like the products for these companies and talk about them on social media.
Have you signed up yet? If not I have no idea what you are waiting for if I failed to convince you by showing off the amazing YSL VoxBox. Once again, Influenster is free to sign up and all you have to do is follow simple directions, complete easy social media tasks, and you will be eligible for future Influenster VoxBox campaigns. There is no perk in me telling you to sign up. I don't get anything for it (I wish I got the YSL Crossbody). I simply just want to share the love.

Yes, that is two Yves Saint Laurent products. The Touche Eclat Blur Primer is a generous sample size. The Touche Eclat Blur Perfector is not a sample and retails for $55. When I received the email telling me that I was chosen for this campaign I'm pretty sure I lost it and woke up my dog hollering in joy. Not only do I love beauty products, but YSL is definitely on my list of loves. YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Mascara is one of my favorite mascaras and I love that it comes in a number of eye enhancing colors from burgundy to blue to traditional black (they all look good on!). And if Influenster wants to send me YSL Monogramme Camera Crossbody in blue to try out, I definitely won't complain.
