Marc Jacobs Glow Stick Review

So Influenster was nice enough to send me Marc Jacobs Beauty Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator to try out and review.
No its not deodorant (it just looks like it).

According to Sephora.com this is "a portable cream stick highlighter in a first-ever universal shade for instant dewy payoff."  Let's be real.  There is no way that this shade flatters all skin tones.  I'm on the lighter side and this is far too white even for my skin tone.  This illuminator feels slightly greasy on my face and does not blend well with my CC cream and concealer.  But there is hope.  I think this product looks amazing when applied to the decolletage and arms.  Nothing like looking lit from within from head to toe because let's face it, I like shinny things.  Sue me.  I also like that this product is travel size friendly and will not break if you drop it.  I do wonder if it will melt in hot weather?  To be determined.

I love, love LOVE Becca Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal.  It has a golden-rosey undertone and blends so well with my skin tone.  I apply it on my cheekbones and over my blush, as eyeshadow, and on my cupids bow and lips to make them look extra luscious.  It is my absolute favorite product for making my skin look gorgeous. I highly, highly recommend it.

Influenster Makes It Better

Part of me doesn't even know how to start this post so I'll start where it is easy.  I love my YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Blur Perfector.  I can't speak highly enough of them.  I know they are a splurge, but I feel they are entirely worth the splurge, but then again I received these in an Influenster VoxBox.  Regardless I'm still singing their praises.  These products keep your makeup looking set whether you worked all day, played in the sun, or just had a moment.  That's what happened to me this morning.  I've been thinking a lot about my best friend who passed last year.  He died and I kind of just ignored it.  The reality is I felt like I wasn't allowed to grieve and I also felt like no one cared that he was gone and I was hurting.  The hardest part of it all for me is that his passing happened right before Christmas and my parents were flying in to visit in a few days so I didn't go back home for his funeral.  In fact I haven't gone home since.  I never said goodbye.  I was mad at him before he passed.  That's a lot to carry.  And I carry...

I've been thinking about him so much lately.  I know he is at peace with me, but I don't feel at peace with myself.  This morning on the way to work I spoke to him like I often do and I asked for him to give me a sign.  This song came on:
At first I thought, "thank you," but of course the skeptic in me said no.  So I changed the song.  Then the beginning of the song Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo came on and I hear "Jason" in an Asian accent and I lost it.  I was filled with a lot of emotions: sad, happy, heartbroken, empty...  But this wasn't coincidence.  He heard me and he was there when I needed him.  But I don't want to talk more about it because I'm still sad and I miss his human form, but I'm glad he is here with me in spirit.

At least my makeup looks good so I can put on a brave face and continue to act like all is well.  And all will be well I just need a little more time.

I always say fake it till you make it.  Touche Eclat Blur Primer creates the best canvas for your makeup.  It goes on light, dries in seconds, and has little flecks of gold.  I love gold.
Don't worry the gold flecks don't look like you washed your face in glitter, but personally I'm down with that.
The real showstopper of this set is the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector.  I've never had a product that set my makeup so well.  I've tried sprays and powders, but this is in a league of its own.  Plus it comes in a universal neutral color that feels like a cream and set like a gel powder.  The result is literally baby soft skin.
And guess what?  No one knew anything was wrong, but those who saw me crying.  That's how amazing this stuff is.  Justine tested, Justine approved.

Thank you Influenster for giving me the chance to try these beyond amazing product.

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Coupon

Influenster is providing a coupon to get your sexy leg on.  Click here and you will be taken to a link to get $2 off any Sally Hansen Airbrush product of $8 or more.  Printable coupon expires 8/18/2015.

Airbrush Legs is my secret to (almost) flawless legs.  After all, I'm not Barbie.  I've tried both products, and while I end up applying both like a lotion, I think I'm still a fan of the spray as it seems to have a lighter consistency, which in hot, humid, summer months is a necessity.  Personally I don't want to leave tan marks wherever I sit, but that's just me.  Which do you prefer?

Influenster and YSL

So I heard about Influenster not too long ago and immediately signed up for it.  Influenster is a really cool website where people not only write reviews about all sorts of products to get Social Impact points, but Influenster also selects individuals for different campaigns to try out different products and review them for free.

The first campaign I was selected for was the Bella VoxBox and you can read all about it here.
You did read that I said everything you get in a VoxBox is free?

I just got an amazing VoxBox featuring YSL...Ahhhhhhhh!

Yes, that is two Yves Saint Laurent products.  The Touche Eclat Blur Primer is a generous sample size.  The Touche Eclat Blur Perfector is not a sample and retails for $55.  When I received the email telling me that I was chosen for this campaign I'm pretty sure I lost it and woke up my dog hollering in joy.  Not only do I love beauty products, but YSL is definitely on my list of loves.  YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils Mascara is one of my favorite mascaras and I love that it comes in a number of eye enhancing colors from burgundy to blue to traditional black (they all look good on!).  And if Influenster wants to send me YSL Monogramme Camera Crossbody in blue to try out, I definitely won't complain.

I think the main catch of Influenster is if you don't complete the reviews that Influenster asks of you then Influenster is less likely to send you future free boxes because they are using you for advertising.  They want you to like the products for these companies and talk about them on social media.

Have you signed up yet?  If not I have no idea what you are waiting for if I failed to convince you by showing off the amazing YSL VoxBox.  Once again, Influenster is free to sign up and all you have to do is follow simple directions, complete easy social media tasks, and you will be eligible for future Influenster VoxBox campaigns.  There is no perk in me telling you to sign up.  I don't get anything for it (I wish I got the YSL Crossbody).  I simply just want to share the love.

Carefree Acti-Fresh Body Shape Pantiliner

Let me preface this post by saying this is going to be some TMI.  If TMI is not your thing I would stop reading right about now and go check out itcosmetics.com because they extended their friends and family event one more day ending today!

You're welcome.

I joined Influenster and had the privilege of receiving my first Voxbox.
My sample contained Carefree Acti-Fresh Body Shape Pantiliners.

I was shocked.  I thought my sample would be a liner or two, not a full size bag of 20 regular liners.  But hey, I'll take it!  Reviewing liners is not something I'm going to shy away from.  As a woman, a nurse, and a graduate student pursing degrees in Midwifery and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, I know women are afraid to talk about their vaginas.  Vaginas get discharge and it can be normal.  Think of your menstrual cycle.  Your body produces more mucus when you ovulate and you can have discharge with hormonal fluctuations.  (Your vagina also produce discharge for other reasons, which sometimes require treatment, but that's not the point of this.)  A woman wants to feel clean and fresh, and pantyliners are a great way to be able to help with that without feeling like you need to throw on a funky pair of underwear because frankly I still want to be able to wear my cute bras sets from Adore Me.
These Carefree liners were absorbent enough for me to last all day and discreet enough for me to throw in my Ipsy beauty bag to have on hand.

Prior to trying the Carefree Acti-Fresh Body Shape Pantiliners I was using U by Kotex Barely There Panty Liners that claimed to be the thinnest of them all.  The U by Kotex do not seem to stay in place as well as these Carefree liners and are definitely not as absorbent.  I actually prefer (gasp) these Carefree liners even though they are thicker than the U by Kotex.  I guess size does matter...go figure.  They are a great product and I will definitely use the Carefree liners in the future.

And while I have not tried them I just wanted to mention that Carefree Acti-Fresh Body Shape Pantiliners also come in thin, long, extra long, and thong.  My review is on the regular size liners, which I tried out with thong underwear and they fit just fine.

Note: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.  My review of this product, however, is my opinion after my own testing of this product.
